Oh my goodness, I knew he was good ;D So sad how it all came about though, Sanpe really did love Lilly with all his heart and would really do ANYTHING. I cried my eyes out. 'Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?' 'For him ?' shouted Snape. 'Expecto patronum!' 'After all this time?' 'Always,' said Snape oh my goodness.

Aww! I had just recently started thinking that Snape was good, and I was glad when I was right! I actually was really, really sad when Snape died (of course, I was in hysterics through most of the last few chapters.) I don't know... I'm still a bit mad at him, but I can't hate him anymore.

meh. i still hate snape and practically jumped for joy when he was dead. i always he was innocent but thats not enough for me to forgive him for giving harry an absolutely awful time.
i was absolutely SHOCKED about the whole snape-loving-lily thing. that was totally unexpected!!

Of course, I was one of those who didn't think that Snape had a thing for Lily.....haha, the joke's on me! But thats the great thing about JKR's writing, there are twists and turns that surprise us all. Its a comforting thing to know, as well, that love can endure the years after you've lost a loved one. And for some, especially Snape, it proves to be the only reason for carrying on.
However, the manner of Snape's death was rather interesting..but I think that I'll start a new thread for that....

Erm, im sorry. But i dont get why he said 'expecto patronum' and the 2 phrases that followed. Was it because he used harry as a happy thought so he cast the patronus?

Snape produced his patronus (a doe, which was the same as Lily's). Dumbledore, knowing that Lily's patronus was a female deer, said "After all this time?" because he wanted Snape to confirm that he still loved Lily despite her being dead. Essentially Snape was telling Dumbledore that he didn't care for Harry, he helped because he would always love Lily despite not being able to be with her.

I must say that Snapes undying love for Lily brought me to tears. He really was a good man and Dumbledore was right to trust him. I wish I had trusted Dumbledores trust in Snape from the beginning. I thought it was so adoreable that though Snape hated Harrys father he still agreed to protect him because he was Lilys son.
Snape giving Harry the memory was one of the best things he could have ever done for him.

There were too many clues as to Snape being innocent, and his love with Lily I thought was kind of obvious from the previous books, although I didn't know he did everything for his undying love of Lily... that part made me admire him for a while. He died a martyr for his cause, true and faithful.

yeah as soon as Snape made his Patronus and is was like Lily's I started crying, it reminded me of how Tonks patronus changed to be like Remus's when she thought she couldnt be with him.
and snuffles - Snape had to be that awful to harry, how else could he fool everyone into thinking he was on the dark side, he needed them to think that otheriwse he wouldnt have been able to be so close to Voldemort, they would have known something was up. Also he really didnt like Harry seeing he was the child of a relationship that he could have. His love for Lily must have been overwhelming, to do all that....the power of love..thats why Dumbledore trusted snape all that time, he knows the power of love and hasnt he always said that, its all about love.

Oh I knew LOVE was involved with Snape and Lily. I cried my eyes out so much during this book. I knew I would. That chapter about the Prince's Tale was awesome. You could tell that Harry had forgiven Snape. I never knew that Lily's Patronus was a doe. I guess I will have to find that piece of info somewhere in the books. I now love Snape more then I ever have. I am so glad that Snape was good and that Dumbledore trusted him.

If snape was bad i would hae reached in and killed him myspelf
when i read that part about the old days in the muggle world with Petunia Lily and Severous and how her and Petunia were still friends until she left and how James was a little mean to her and Snape but then they ended up married and how Snape and her were freinds throughout Hogwarts
I have tear marks in my book from when the pension showed all of that I cried that WHOLE CHAPTER

I cried too but didn't let the tears fall into my book. I don't want to ruin it yet. I couldn't help myself but cry. I have so many tissues in my waste basket though.

I was crying so hard that when I did cry, I had to get the book out of the way. I couldn't even read, my vision was too blurred.
We were talking about this over dinner last night. Poor Snape! There's a part of me that still wants to hate him... but it's not a very big part.
