Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Honestly, I thought this scene was dreadful. Dudley was... yeah, no. And why were his friends there? It just seemed really awkward and rushed through.

I haven't seen the movie yet but have seen this clip for a couple of days. I am not happy about it either. Especially with Dudley's friends being there. It is liked saying that they know he is a wizard. That is one scene I am not looking forward to seeing.
I also agree with the alley way. That was just a tunnel but then again I don't know if in the UK they call them alleyways.

i was wondering too if that was the original Dudley.and i agree with leigh.the movie made it seem like his freinds knew harry was a wizard, when in the books it said that no one knew.

This is probably the one scene that I didn't care for that much. I didn't like the fact that Dudders friends were there when Harry pulled out his wand. The only thing I can think is that his friends just thought Harry had a stick and was trying to use it as a weapon. I liked the patronus but it was very rushed.

I think it was off a bit how the dementor just kind showed up in a second and held Harry against a wall, as far as we know they dont just 'sneak up' do they ? I know it got all cold and stormy to show they were coming and that was good but the other bit kinda didnt work, and they werent half as scary as when they were in PoA. I'm thining there is somehting to the slow motion effect they sued in PoA which quite obviously they forgot about in this one. It still would have been way better if they did it how it was in the book, with it being night and in an alleyway, I wonder whose decision it was to change all that coz it didnt really go good with my head.

I know if it was night and no one was around and it actually was an alley way instead of a tunnel it would of been more like the DoM scenes, where your heart starts thumping really hard.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with the Dementor scene. Dreadful. Just like Leigh said. The Dementors looked more like gangster skeletons than anything, and Dudley looked like a robot! I seriously thought he was a computer animation because his mouth only moved up and down, no facial expressions, no nothing. Pity, pity. The one part that I did like was when they were running through the tunnel-like (supposed alley) thing and you just saw Harry. He turns around and BOOM! and Dementor is there! Loved that. Gave me quite a good scare right then, that did. That was pretty much the only good part in the Dementor scene.
What about when the letter come from the Ministry about Harry's hearing and expolsion? It was supposed to be a howler, right? It just looked like a letter with eyes and lips to me. I liked the howler in the second movie, much, much better.
Pretty much except for these flaws, I thought the OOTP movie was pretty cool. I like to describe it as epic, though. Because no HP movie can be less than epic in my book.

Hmm... Dudley had bling! Ahaha... Everyone in the theatre was saying "OMG! Dudley has bling?! What happened there?"
The dementors were.... ugh. And Dudley's friends being there made me mad.
They didn't explain about Figg either!

I felt as if the demontors were way different in this moviecopared to those in PoA. They didnt really cover all of them, and when he nearly kissed Dudders, the little ball representing the sould didn't come up lol. I wish that had occureed it would;ve looked cool. Also, when Dudders returned home and pointed at Harry, goodness it was just so bloody scary. He looked weird. However, i am pretty adamant that this Dudley was the same as the ones before. Anyone else think differently?
And as for his friends being there, i think they thought Harry was using a twig as a weapon. That was why they continued to laugh, whilst Dudley became all scared. Lol.
