I heard from a couple of people that there won't be the funeral in HBP. I couldn't find anything to disprove that either. If you do let me know, because I think they'd have to be off their rocker not to put that in.

OMG!! Don't say that. I know I will cry but I so want to see the funeral. They can't leave that out. Unless it just isn't going to be that embellished.

I know! I was outraged that it could be true. If it is I will complain to Warner Bros., J.K. Rowling, David Yates, Script Writer, and a few friends. I will cry to, but to leave that out is uncalled for and stupid. I hope someone can disprove it! [/size]

Oh I hope that keep that in, even though it's terribly sad! That is one of Harry's defining moments in HBP, they can't take that out!

That is so true Megan. It just really sums up the whole book and Harry grows so much at that funeral. To cut that out is like a sundae with out all the good stuff. Sorry couldn't think of anything to compare it to...

But you are so right. Then it would just be plain ice cream. Then again it would be like the worlds best pancakes without syrup. [Which by the way I just ate and they were delicious!]
It really was his defining moment and I hope it is a rumor. Like I said there would be many people I would be calling up. Or emailing up [course that doesn't sound right...]. We could protest if it were true. Couldn't do a petition because internet ones are not valid... So when the time comes I say we have a plan. [/blockquote][/size]

Yes, if it is true we should have a plan to do something. Right now though, since it is just a rumor, all we can do is hope and try to find out the truth. Honestly, I really don't think that they would cut it and if they do they have to put it in somewhere (possibly the beginning of DH part 1...??) because that is a very important part.

That is a thought. Hopefully if it isn't in HBP [which would be extreamly stupid as it was in the book.] it would be in the beginning of DH pt. 1. Although they said the reason they were making it in two parts was because they didn't want to cut much out and it would take up a lot of room. Which leads me to believe: Why add that to the already long movie when it can go into its rightful movie? *sigh* I am going to go leaf through some things and try to find an answer again.

I completely agree, it would be extremely confusing and stupid if they put it in DH part 1. I highly doubt they will take it out, hopefully it is just a rumor.

I haven't heard anything more about this rumor. I really hope it isn't true. You know who may know is Sam who is a member here. She sometimes knows things before we do but I haven't seen her on here lately.
I agree that putting it in the beginning of Deathly Hallows just wouldn't be right. And even if it was in the beginning of DH part 1 it wouldn't be the same. Unless they are thinking of putting it in as a memory.. it just wouldn't be the same.

It really wouldn't be the same. Even as a memory, it would confuse people and just not go with the plot line of the movie. They shouldn't be afraid to make the movie longer than two hours, heck go for three. If someone complains it's too long, chances are they haven't read the book. Plus I have trust that David Yates has the skill to make a long movie interesting. I shall continue my quest of research and hope it is truly that, a rumor. ::EDIT::I was researching and found that HBP is supposedly opening with "a big attack...bringing one of London's major landmarks crashing down". So they are taking London Bridge down, which wasn't a scene, just mentioned in the conversation. How are the going to do it? I guess the song if finally coming true... ;D [london bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down...]
I also read a comment that there will not be a funeral...
But then I read on and found that there was no direct quote saying that it had been cut, but perhaps a twisting of words that stated Tonk's role in the funeral had been cut. So that sheds hope:
Here is another one supporting the no funeral:
There also won't be any scenes of Myrtle [the rep of the actress confirmed this], so we probably don't get to see Harry and her talk about a crying Draco.
That is all for now because I am getting tired!

I think that the bridge collapsing in the movie would be a wonderful idea! Just the way they could portray this, like that one quote said with this happening and the Minister listening to it would be absolutely perfect!
This news is very good but I'm still worried about the cutting of the funeral. I hope that they are right, that it is just a misread quote from Natalia because I can deal with the Remus/Tonks moment being cut out, just not the whole funeral.

Yes, I have to agree that it is hopeful about it being a misread quote. I like the idea about the bridge collapsing too.
I just have one question what locket was that last quote speaking about in OOTP?? I thought the locket was found at the end of HBP?? Sorry I am not the best at remembering things so forgive me if I am wrong.

I think they meant the one they found at Grimuald Place that they couldn't open. They found it again at the end of HBP or beginning of DH. I'm with you; not the best at remembering things.
I was just curious on how they would portray it, because I couldn't picture it in my head. But now I can, and I agree Megan, that would be a pretty good scene.
