[Quidditch Queen]

Does anybody else take them? It can be Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, or any other kind you can think of.

I take Taekwondo, and last Thursday I tested for my Second Dan Black Belt. It was abotu a two and a half hour test, and it was HARD. I still have a bruise from trying to break two boards with a hammerfist. I just joined the Black Belts Bruise Club! I was promoted nad got my belt on Saturday!

I've been taking Taekwondo since I was six, so it's been about seven years now. It's expecially hard the last month before you test, because you have to try to take as many classes as possible to be sure you're ready.

If anyone else takes or has had experience with the Martial Arts, post here!

Medieval Combat, does that count? It should, the bruises I get are a dime a dozen. LOL

I never lasted. when I was in fifth grade I started taking Taekwondo for 6 weeks then stopped. That's pretty cool QQ!

Yup, I do European Medieval Combat. I love explaining to people where you got the bruises from and watching their faces, LOL!! Having said that we had to run at and try break a shield wall two weeks ago, I messed my neck up, THAT was not fun.

Sweet, Oh Pureblood your the only person I know you does it besides my group, do you like it? I rememeber when my teacher thought that my parents beat me. She sent me to the guidance office, and said "don't worry hunny, we won't let them hurt you again" I thought they were just stupid, I kept telling them but they didn't believe me, until I showed them my trophie and logged onto our website and showed them a video clip of me getting wacked with a club.

I dont know anyone except my group either. great to have someone else to talk to about it. what time of combat do you do shanny? weapons/time period. Are you allowed on field at re-enactment battles? I dunno if america has age restrictions for that type of thing or not. I'd love to have a look at you group website, i might get me some ideas!

I have never heard anything like that! It sounds cool, what sorts of things do you do, I don't really get it.

well, I can't speak for Shanny, but usually how it works is a group picks a place and time period, e.g. My group do 5-6th Cent Eire, the kerns and the gallowglasses. Pretty much you learn their fighting style, you get whatever weapons, clothes etc, they had and get trained to use them, you drill and do formations and stuff like that. At the moment I'm doing spear (My fave ) and short sword, my little sister is doing spear and dagger. Other people in the groups are learning long sword, axe etc. Then you go to battle re-enactment, they are mostly in England unfortatly for me, and you meet up with other groups and ..well...go to war, pretty much.

i used to take karate,but then i moved*BUMMER*,but at least i know some moves so if someone tries to beat me up i can show them who's boss.

*waves hand* I do medieval combat too!!! I go to the same group as PB. Its great. I fight with two short daggers, and the amount of bruises- basically, i am a bruise with feet. XP

Actually, we're sisters, which kinda makes it worse when we fight. I usually end up getting the brunt of her anger. lol
