I KNOW!
I love Dan (Rob more...*drool*) and I just never saw him as a smoker. Robert, yes, he's got that kind of charm, Dan, no.

OH NO DON'T TELL ME THAT. I HATE SMOKERS. (sorry if I offended any one. Mom was a smoker and that is why I hate it.)
I don't even care how cute or sexy a guy is, if they smoke that is just so dirty. It is like kissing an ash tray and I don't like it. (Have dated in past guys who have smoked.)
If this is true, then I will look at Dan in a whole new light, and not a good one at that.
Let me know where you found this out cause I would love to see the evidence to this.

Really, its not that big of a shocker but in a way it kinda is. I mean he's young and he spends his time here, but you all know he grew up in London and still lives there and thats probably what alot of them do over there.
I hate smokers too so Danny Boy just dropped a couple of points (and Rupert picked them up and put them in his pocket to get higher in the #1 spot. lol). Smokers hurt them selfs and everyone around them. I look at them as selfish people who are poluting the air.
If I affended anyone.... to bad. Freedom of speech. Change the page if you dont like it. >.< Dang smokers!! lol

Remember this story I'm about to tell you. I wrote it my Senior year of high school for my school news paper, it was the talk of the school for like a week. My main reason for hating smokers.
Page, Aimee Journalism, 5th period January 29, 2007
Cruel Addiction
Kitty Combs, age 62, of Irving passed away on January 27, 2006. She was born on December 21, 1943 to Fred and Pearlie Chapman. Mrs. Combs married Buddy Combs on October 2, 1970 in Durant, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1989. Survivors include, daughter, Annette Page and husband John of Irving; son Johnny Combs and wife Laura of Grand Prairie, TX; grandchildren, Aimee Page, Kylie Page, Casey Combs, Brittany Combs, and Lauren Combs. That is a real obituary you just read. Why may you ask are we putting an obituary of a woman who died a year ago, in the school news- paper? Well, the answer is simple; simple yet horrifying. The way she died is the important part; the part I think every person in this world needs to know. Everything you are about to read is true. Kitty, or Memaw as her grandchildren called her, had smoked nearly all her life. Her husband Buddy also had smoked nearly all of his life. Back then no one knew about the health hazards that tobacco can bring to people. Buddy passed away after he had both of his legs amputated due to smoking. Kitty and the rest of the family vowed to quit smoking, in honor of him; not a single one kept their word. My sister, Kylie and I, were in many activities that involved performing and was a way for families to come together. We were both in the Irving Girls Choir for 3 ½ years. When we would perform we expected our whole family to be there and watch us do what we loved to do. Sadly, there was always an open seat for Memaw, she was always to sick to come see us. It broke our hearts. In 2001 we had no other choice but to put her in a nursing home. She could not make a simple sandwich that would normally take a healthy person only 5 minutes to make; it would take her nearly 45. She was put on oxygen 24/7 and guess what; she still continued too smoke. My mother, Annette Page, paid for her to live at the nursing home, and any medical bills she needed. She was always going outside in the court yard to smoke; the nurses sometimes would join her. Obviously not a very classy place if you are an ill person who is allowed to smoke. She was always good about turning off her oxygen tank while she smoked; but I guess good wasn’t enough. On January 26, 2006, 10:15pm, we got a call that she had been rushed to Parkland Hospital. I was still awake reading a book when my dad came in the room saying that he and my mother were leaving, and he told me what had happened. “She went outside to have a cigarette but she didn’t turn her oxygen off all of the way.” My father said, “The nurse was not there watching her after she had taken her medication. They said her left side is completely burned.” My parents didn’t get home till 6am. That night they went to go see her again but asked if Kylie and I wanted to come; thing was, we could not cry. I said no, I could not go see her yet and not cry. I regret it everyday. I should have gone… but I didn’t. She died that night while my parents and my uncle, and other family members, were with her. I wanted to share this story with my school because I don’t want your grandkids to suffer like me and my sister did. She slowly died because she smoked; it was her stubbornness of not quitting that killed her later. Will you be able to stop smoking if you knew how badly it hurts your friends and family? I want you to realize that if you are smoking now, you are only causing problems like this later. People are going to say that you are only hurting yourself. They may not know that you are also hurting the people you love and care about. 50,000 children a year are hospitalized because of second hand smoke. One third of these children will have cancer before they are old enough to vote. Cigarette smoking is the major cause of preventable deaths in the U.S. On the average, people who smoke die 5 to 8 years earlier than people who don't smoke. Almost everyone knows that smoking causes cancer, emphysema, and heart disease; that it can shorten your life by 14 years or more; and that the habit can cost a smoker thousands of dollars a year. So how come people are still lighting up? The answer, in a word, is addiction. That was Kitty’s problem; her addiction to cigarettes caused her to become too weak to even leave the house. Though she was never too weak to grab her lighter and light up again.

Aimee,
I loved the story. I read it this morning just before I left for work and it brought tears to my eyes. My mom died of cancer. Whether it was from the smoking no one is sure because it wasn't from lung cancer it was from colon cancer and I sometimes think that it was due to her being a smoker. My husband's one aunt died of lung cancer and he saw pictures of her lungs and found it disgusting . His grandmom had throat cancer and has lost her taste buds and saliva glands. She has to eat foods that are very soft and have alot of liquid in them. She was a smoker (I think she has stopped but her husband hasn't)
I have had signs in my house that say no smoking. Anyone that smokes they have to smoke outside.
I still want to see the pictures of the story about Dan Smoking. I know he smoked in the play and in December Boys but that doesn't mean he smokes in real life. I had heard or read some where that in the play he said he didn't smoke in real life.

I don't like it when people smoke around me.
I tried smoking when I was in high school. I am glad I stopped. The way I stopped was by a guy telling me I wasn't inhaling the smoke. He says to me what happen if you mom saw you smoking. I told him she would kill me. He says, okay now pretend your mom just walked around the corner. I gasped and inhaled the smoke. I coughed a few times. I then threw the cigarette down and gave him the pack I was holding. It burned really bad. I am glad that guy made me inhale.
I tell you you it isn't worth smoking. It makes your hair smell, your clothes smell. Your house smells and you fingers start to get discolored. It is disgusting. I have also heard that your sense of smell and taste change from smoking too.

It does, my Dad's taste has changed something shocking just in the past five years, and he's still smoking.
I can never get into smoking. I was offered, and litterally told the "friends" of mine, where to go...

I can never get into smoking. I was offered, and litterally told the "friends" of mine, where to go... That is good that you were able to tell your "friends" were to go. My kids hate smoking too. I told them about me trying cigarettes and how it felt. I only smoked for about a month, I think but not absolutely sure. My mom always said she started smoking when she was 21 because of her friends in nursing school. They dared her too. I hate it when I see those people in the health profession smoking. I feel that is contradictive.

I'm glad I don't have friends that do that. They all know about the story with my grandmother so they never pressure me. They don't even smoke around me. I know they do it. We had a really long talk about it. They said they arent going to stop but wouldnt smoke around me. So I took what I could get. Then I started hanging around them alot. A few few took the hint and stopped.

That is good that you got some of your friends to quit smoking. I worked with alot of people that smoked and it was annoying when they would go out for a smoke break. They would get to take like 3 or 4 more breaks then the non smokers. The people I work with now don't smoke during work. Which I think is great.

surely it isn't true. He is setting a bad example to the youngsters. Emma once said all three of them don't smoke, take drugs or drink. Emma said that last year leading up to the OotP Premiere live on the news. So it can't be true. Smoking is banned in public places here in the UK so he has little choice of where to smoke.
Idon't Smoke it smells awful. When I come back from a break at college the smokers stink to high heavens. I make sure I don't sit next to a smoker in class when I am working.
