Tessa sat beside the lake with a million thoughts going through her mind. As she sat there hugging her knees she cursed her self for not bringing a jacket. For March it was still pretty cold, especially with the wind playing a big factor.
Sure she could acio it, but sadly she broke her wand and was waiting for permission from Professor Dumbledor to go to Diagon Alley and purchase a new one. I hope he gets back to me soon, I still have to practice the new charm I found last night.
The past few months had been very quiet for her. Nothing major had happened aside the fights between her and her foster mother. Definitely a new home for me if this keeps up. Tessa had barely spoken since Christmas after the major fight with her foster mother over what her parents would have wanted with their daughter. I don't understand it. Why would Lord Moldy-Shorts attack my entire family? As far as I know we were the quiet average family. Plus my parents and sister never really spoke much on the subject of DE's before their death.
Truthfully it had been a rather confusing three months for her. Dealing with the death of her sister was hard, but the constant fights with her foster mother made things harder. She had found that coming out to the lake made a great relief. What really sucked was the fact that she hadn't spoken with any of her friends in months, something that she was sorely missing.

I walked around the grounds for awhile, trying to clear my mind. Trying to grab at the fact that Severus wanted me to come live with him instead of haveing to go back at Bob and Charlene's. Part of me was screaming "YES YES YES YES YES" but part of me was saying "Why now?"
Honestly, if I live with Severus, things could change and once he knows who I really am when I'm in the comfort of my own home, he may want to send me back. I thought. I mean, he's never lived with a girl. A teenage girl at that. And him being my older brother, I'd have to take extra steps to make sure I didnt make anything uncomfortable. But I get away from Bob and Charlene, no more midnight wake up's because Bob is drunk and needs to hit something. No more Charlene and her demands for a maid. I could forever be free of them.
I wandered by the lake and saw Tessa sitting there alone looking into outerspace. I guess I'm not the only one with life problems. I zipped up my sweater a bit more and walked over to her.
"Hey, chilly day. Where is your sweater?" I asked.

Tessa looked up surprised anyone else had ventured out into the cold. With a slight smile she replied, "Hey! I left up in the tower. I would summon it but me being me, I broke my wand."
It seems as if I am some deadly disease that everyone is avoiding. I cannot see why, I haven't done much in these past few months...

Leigh hugged her jacket tighter around her body, thinking about different things. The war had gotten worse in the past few months, making it harder on everyone; some more so than others. She cursed Voldemort silently, wishing she had a more active role in the defensive, but, of course, Conner, her mother, and her father had forbidden it.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Tessa and Aimee. Silently, she strolled over to where they were and sat down.
"Hey," she said quietly, and then nothing more.

Tessa looked up at the sound of the new voice. It was almost foreign, but she still remembered the voice. "Leigh! Hey. What brings you down to join our party?" With a small smile she motioned both girls to take a seat. "I'd offer to place a heating charm on us but sadly I cannot."
Prior to breaking her wand Tessa never really thought how hard it would be to manage at Hogwarts with out it. Now however she realized how much the took wands for grant id.

"Aw, no big deal." I said taking a seat. "Texas is hot and sticky, I love this weather. Its cool and refreshing. I can summon your sweater if you want. Or you can borrow mine, I honestly don't really need it."
I loud squack echoed from over head. Mig, my falcon was flying over head looking for a nice fish to swoop down on.
"So, this seems like the place to think huh. We should make a club." I said with a laugh.

Tessa nodded. "Yea. Seems like everyone comes out here to think every now and then. No thanks on the sweater, I'll be fine for now." Tessa rubbed her arms to prove he point and gave a small smile.

"You can trust me. Plus not many people are talking to me for some odd reason, so I have no one to tell." Tessa said truthfully. Tessa hugged her knees closer to her chest and took in a deep breathe, letting out a sigh.

"Well I wasnt suppose to tell anyone, but my imedit friends know. Severus Snape is my brother." I paused and looked at their faces. "I've known since year one and I didnt tell anyone till 4th year. Well Severus asked if I wanted to come live with him instead of my foster parents. I was really leaning towards it, because my foster are kind of abusive, but I mean, Severus just up and left me when I was a baby, why would he want to start now?"

Tessa was stunned for a minute but then began to put it all together. "That must be why he is always cranky! He must feel guilty for what he did. As for to go or not, I would say definitely go! It would be much better than your current situation." Tessa concluded with a small smile on her face.

"I know, but I mean he didn't want me before, he just threw me out after our parents died. I was still a couple of weeks old." I crossed my arms and looked at the water hitting the shore. "I mean, lord knows I hate Bob and Charlene for their beating me all the time. I mean I should go, but I don't know, Severus and I don't exactly get along well and I mean, he'll have to change his whole routine to have a teen girl live with him. Is he really ready for all of that?"

"Do you honestly think he couldn't be ready after teaching for years? I still say he feels guilty for what he had done and as an attempt to make up for it he is extending an olive branch of sorts. Maybe you could just stay at his home for a weekend or something as a test trial. Thats what I did with Ar-. Nevermind, but you should definatly consider it." Tessa suggested. I can't believe I almost let that slip. If anyone knew about him, he would be murdered too! And it would be all my fault. She thought with a slight frown.
As an attempt to clear her mind of that thought she began to softly sing,

The singing had worked, the thought was miles away from her brain and she was smiling a little.

"Ah I love that song, and you sing really beautiful." I said. "Maybe you're right. I could go a weekend and see how it works out. Maybe it wont be so bad. God I hope he knows how to cook. I mean I'm an awsome cook, but I would rather not be eating TV dinners every night." I said.

Tessa blushed a little and replied, " I love it as well. TV dinners every night may get a tiny bit old after a couple of days. Although he must be some good of a cook if he cooked for himself for all these years. Well, when he isn't here at Hogwarts that is." The wind picked up and Tessa shivered slightly. "I say take the test trial and then make your decision."
