Hi Mike, Well first you need programs that can work with animation. I use Macromedia Fireworks. There are many cheap or free animation programs you can get off the net, just search in google. Animated avatars and animated gif's (.gif) they are simply just a group of still images put in order and told to flick to the next image. So to make an animated avatar, work out what each image will be of (each image is called a: frame) and go about making them in any art program. When you get a program that makes animation, you simply copy and paste each image (frame) in order and save. Of course each program will do it a little differently. I just right click them save them to my pictures then up load them onto photobucket. Then I put them in my signature or where ever I want them.

Hey if you really want to learn how to make animated stuff, (like emoticons for MSN! i make some of mine, but they are kinda crap lol) then you should use adobe photoshop. i have a site here that helps you make some. and once you've grasped your basics, all you have to do is upload pics etc. and play them. Hope you have fun!
