Once again I am bored and determined.

Determined to do what you ask? Start a successful RPG site that is different from this one. I am not saying this one is bad [how can I? no matter how many sites I join, I prefer this one!] just that we need a side one different from this one.

I have had many failed attempts, ask Leigh. I think four in total...


I am getting off track again. The whole point of this post is to see if anyone agrees with me. Or wants to help out. Or suggest. I am not positive I am going to go through with this, just a though really. One that results from boredom.

What exactly are you looking to do for a new RPing site? I know I haven't been on as much because I am getting bored with HP. If you are looking to do RPing that follows the books I don't know if I would be interested. Don't get me wrong I love HP but it does get boring after awhile. I have been on another site that doesn't do alot of RPing we just have threads that we talk about many different things. We have some RPing and we seem to just be ourselves and nothing more.

I would love to help, don't know if I can give that much. I just figured I would reply and give my 2cents.

Yeah, you had 4, and I'm pretty sure I had another 3 or 4. MBN actually did okay for a while. HA! That was fun when we were more active.

Anyway, I agree with Monica. If it's an RP, I think it would be better as an original. The plotline would be new and we'd get to make up a lot of the story ourselves. It would also include a chance to make characters that are different from ourselves. I think here the reason we are so much ourselves is because we're not playing characters that are well developed and don't really act in any certain way. We're not really key to the story (we wish we were!) so it doesn't matter if the characters are like us or not. Another problem with HP RP is that when were not actually in the books, it's hard to re-create the stories like we are. It kind of makes it easier to just play in future when Harry & everyone is older... which leaves us without many problems for our characters to face. With an original, we'd be key characters with challenges and... everything. (Yeah, I know, my speech is so eloquent today. *rolls eyes* Sorry, it's late and I'm tired...)
Okay, enough rambling. Sorry.
I've been writing too much. (I have a new Trilogy I'm writing! WOO! I'm actually really happy with it. I just need to develop the plot and characters a bit more. =) )

((You know what though??? I can stay up late tonight because... I have tomorrow and Sunday off of work! xD And I have Thursday off too, but that's so I can go see Phantom of the Opera. xD xD.))

((Nice. I still work at the ballpark. I get like eight an hour if I do concessions or money taking. If I ump [hardly ever do, it is mainly the second person in the outfield] I get fifty per game. I only get the days off and work the night. Course the tournys are on the weekend so they are a bust. Luckily I was out of town for one. Got so much crud of that one. I am rambling...))

I agree. I think it should be set way in the future, maybe after their kids are out of Hogwarts. I don't know, but I want something totally different from the normal stuff you see. In a way we could disregard the books, leaving only the important things to remember as old wise tales.

MBN was great, but everyone quit coming on. WSA was good for a few days but we ended up with what, 5 members? I think I still have Hidden Magic.... Enchanted forest has been deleted. So yes there was four. Wait! No there was my first one that was an Invision Free board. That was where some guy wanted to date me... So that makes 5. Ha, maybe sixth time is the charm.

((Again more rambling. Must be because I am excited. I am going to Branson, and then to my GMA's for a couple of days! Congrads on the Trilogy!))

Ugh, don't get me started on how many InvisionFree boards I had. But, reverting to ProBoards, do you remember Meme's "Craze"? Ha! That was fun, too. Okay, Leigh, no reminiscing (sp? I don't feel like spelling correctly.) Yeah, so.

Way-future-like Hogwarts vs. Completely original plot-line. Both might work.

(Thanks. Phantom of the Opera was AMAZING. The expensive-ness was so worth it. We had excellent seats. Lucky you! I went to Branson one weekend with one of my guy friends and his family. It was so much fun. [And funny. It was a family reunion. He's gay, but no one except his friends and his immediate family knows, so everyone there thought I was his girlfriend. Wonder what they would have thought if they knew we had our own room-type-thing that we were sharing with no one else. LMAO.] Branson is great. Ride the big go-carts! xD )

I am not good at making up a plot.. I wish I could be of help. The way future like Hogwarts sounds interesting. I think if we just have it that people can join and be a student or teacher at Hogwarts would be great. We can have some of the same characters that survived from the series, meaning the teachers and any of the students that became teachers. I don't think we need to have the same problems as Harry and the rest with an evil wizard. People could maybe decide to be a decendent or relative of one of the main characters that died, if it makes sense.. Those are just a few ideas..

I hope that helps with the one idea.

I agree no more "Dark Lord" plots as those are becoming a bit cliché.

Yes like Professor Longbottom . Some of the cannon characters that were mentioned in brief or even a even more future children-of-the-trio that teach. Those are good ideas. I shall go and think some. Can't stay up much more I have to help ump tomorrow at eight and have to be at the park by seven. I hate tourneys.

along with the plot we could as yall said hae the cannon characters and ourselves. but i do have one thing to add thing dont make the pepole apply for anything if they want to join let them join hyst dont make them apply as a stuent and then for robes and then for celeb claim and all that other stuff its to confusing but people could be half creatures or full creatures that would be cool like werewolfs and vampires and veelas and metamorphaguses.

I like having different creatures like Veela, Metemorphmagus, Vampire, etc. Although they'd have to say it in the sorting application. The celeb claim isn't permanent, just a thought. It can be confusing. Thanks for the input. If people decide they like it, I'll make the board.

It also needs a name. I haven't a clue what to call it... Bah, all my inspiration went towards my 3D-Art project; photo graphics for the fall festival. I planned to work with a partner, but that went out the window, so I had two hours to get the perfect shot in the smallest town in the U.S.

I don't know how I feel about a RPing board. Part of me is like yes and then another part is like don't care. I have seen so many RPing boards lately that I think I am getting tired of looking at them and talking about them. I am just one of those persons that would like to be myself but be at a younger age and make my own character's or friends.... I hope that makes sense...
