well I was thinking about that for a long time and I came to see this:  maybe evil becouse - He killed old Dumbledore  - He transfered very important information to Voldemort so he was satisfied ( in book 6-HPP- chapter 2 "spinner's end ") - He was a Death Eater after all - He told Vol. about the prophecy and James and Lily Potter were killed becouse of him but on the other hand: - He saved Harry's life (book 1) - He showed his dark mark to Fudge (book 4 when they was in the hospital wing after the tri-wizard T.) - He told the order of the phonix that Harry was going to the ministery of magic (book 5 when Harry thought Vol. has got Sirius) - and maybe Snape hadn't killed Dumbledore becouse he wanted to, maybe Dumbledore was suffering from a very painfil long death caused by the potion he had drank in the cave, so when he asked Snape for help he was asking him to kill him and if you come to think about it how can help when there were three Death Eaters and a werewolf (not to forget Draco) looking at him? finally as we all know JKR. doesn't like the direct way she likes the whereabouts so she won't possibly say that he is evil so easily, SO WHAT DO YOU THINK? my head is buzzing  |

Well, U've got a point ,, But nearly every thing on the Bright side of Snape can possibly be not out of the heart,, 4 example, he might have saved Harry's life in book 1 becoz he wanted to repay his father 4 saving him once be4 as we were informed in that book , & he might told the OoP that Harry was in the forest Just 2 Secure Dumbledore's Confidence in him,, But I cant have any explenations 4 the the dark mark thing & killing Dumbledore thing, though in the book, JK. had said that when he killed Dumbledore he gazed at him with "revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face".. but I agree that JKR never walk in the direct ways..& also , about the buzzed head thing,, I have that too ..  |

if you opened HBP on page 549 in the American edition, you will see in the middle of the page: (Dumbledore did not speak for a moment; he looks as though he was trying to make up his mind about something. At last he said,"I am sure. I trust Severus Snape completely") so I think Snape is innocent, and he isn't evil

Snape isn't evil. He's a very complex man. Like most of us, he's made mistakes in his past that he would rather forget. He's done things that have pricked his conscience and made him doubt himself.
Severus will never win any popularity competitions because he's never been liked by any students other than the Slytherins. He lets his feelings get in the way when faced with Harry. Like Sirius was thought to think of Harry as James, the same can be said about Snape. He blames Harry for all that James did to him when they were at school.
One thing we are certain of, Dumbledore trusted him so he must know something about Snape that hasn't yet been revealed.

well, I agree about Him not winning any Popularity competitions, I personaly loath him, but Yes I'm sure there is a trust-me-DD thing in Snape, & JK said that she would reveal that to us in the last book *cant wait*, I dunno, he might have been in the dark side, then The bright side, then back to the dark side ..lol

I think he's evil!!
And in HBP when that Death Eater tries to murder Harry, he says 'Potter belongs to the Dark Lord' so wouldn't he have saved his life in PS because he was under Voldemorts orders not to kill him??

now going to the main topic...to tell the truth, I dont love Snape, but I dont hate him too, I know what he did for Harry, but I think that he has a heart full of love though he doesnt seem to have one
I do believe he is a good guy, no matter what he did

i belive that he is good and i agree with what sala said... but is it possible that he is nuetral ... that he only acts upon his good side for dumbledore to repay him ... or maybe just belive in him ... we have to read lord of the flies in english and we have to study all these phicological stuff..thats why i said stuff about him being nuetral
