Ok, so far, we have these dates to look at. 7/7/07 People chose this for obvious reasons (as this is the 7th book) It is also unlikely for two reasons -It is too close to the release of the movie -The second anniversary of the London Bombings, it is unlikely that JKR would want to release it on this date. July 31, 2007 This date was given by a firm that distributes books to libraries and book sellers. December 31, 2007 Date given by Amazon France. July 25, 2007 Date given by Borders when people pre-order the book. December 21, 2007 It's on a solstice, and if the fifth book's "At the solstice will come a new.... and none will come after..." has a double meaning, this could be it. September 1, 2007 The first day of school for Hogwarts. October 31, 2007 Halloween is the night Lily and James died. Also because the book has the word "Hallows" in it and could be referring to Halloween. I am planning to go to both Barnes & Noble and Borders today to see what they say about pre-ordering the book. Yeah.. I heard about most of them. But don;t you think if they release the book on school days it'd be a disaster? It's a bit hard to read through school, & from what I've heard, the last books had been released in the summer. I really hope it'd be on triple 7, but that would clash with the fifth movie premiere, & is going to be kind of a stupid release date. I think it'd be either near the end of 07's summer, or 08's summer. Though I hope it's the former.

Well, it could also be during December, near Christmas so the kid's would be on break. The only problem with that is that not all countries celebrate Christmas, so not everyone gets off on break.

Yeah.. I dunno.. But there's the Spring vacation, which is close to Christmas.. But I think it'd be a better timing if it is in some summer..

Yes thanks for the different dates on the possible release dates. I pre-ordered my books today at Barnes and Noble and he said they are looking at late summer. So that could be the end of July, Aug, or Sept. I am suppose to get an email about the pre-order I did but I don't know if that is as it gets closer to the date. That is what I believe though.

I hope it'll be realesed during the summer, it's the best time of the year. As Leigh said, not all the countries celebrate Christmas, so summer should be the best, still that means we won't see the books till 2008.

If this book isn't released until 2008 I don't know what I will do. That is just too far away. I hope it is this summer. It is only 8 months away but it could be the end of summer like in Aug.
I do feel that Sam is right though.

Yeah, having the film PLUS the book released in the same month is a bit much, I really wouldn't care in a way lol, but they need to space it out. So probably August or September ((be a good birthday present for me if its released in September! ;D)) or maybe October. Lucky things though! We can't pre-order our copy in Australia yet, until, I have no idea.

I don't think it will be in Oct. I just hope it is 7/7/07. I think that would be the best date. I know having both book and movie released in the same month may be a little too much but who knows.
I just hope we find out something soon.

WOW! if it was 7/7/2007, I would be making the biggest celebration with all the Harry Potter nerds I know in the area, that would be just so awesome!

I know. Do you realized that July is only six months away. I just hope the book comes out this year. I just looked at the copywrite dates for the books and the HBP was released in 2005, OotP was released in 2003, GoF was released in 2000. The longest time between the books is 3 years. Otherwise it has been about 2 years. So that would mean Deathly Hallows could be released in 2007.

Wow! you are right! and that would be fantastic, but I don't know why I have a feeling that they won't give us such happiness, I guess it'll be in 08, it's just a nasty feeling.

I hope your feelings are wrong Refo. I can't wait that long. If the book is that late just think of the torture we will have to go through.

I don't want to go through that torture! Not knowing the offical release date of Deathly Hallows is bad enough as it is! lol!
