I read the following on www.hpana.com, does anyone know what scene the director is refering to ? I sure hope he's not making new things to suit himself, these are J.K. Rowling's stories after all  Upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix director David Yates commented recently that he has had difficulty in securing permission to film a specific scene for the movie that involves Harry flying along the river Thames in London.
So far, we have spent a lot of time on boats on the Thames. I want to do a great big wizard chase past the London landmarks and it is going to be very exciting, but it has not been easy to set up. We need to secure the co-operation of 17 different councils, and some of them are doubtful at this stage.
My location manager is going to spend the next four months trying to sort it all out- we don't start shooting until the spring.
Filming is set to begin next January. |

It sounds weird. I hope that they don't change it. The book was pretty good. But of course, you can go through the book all the way through the movie.

Hi Wandmaster!
I have also been confused so much about this scene--I couldn't find anything in the book about a chase. Do you think they might use brooms to get to the MOM instead of thestrals (I do hope not--I'd really like to see the thestrals!) and have the Death Eaters chasing them there? It would be a great action sequence, but more than a bit of a change.
I'm taking comfort in the fact that JKR always has the final say in the rewrites and editing, and has said there would be no important changes to the story line in any of the movies.

But there is one more thing that I am confused with. Is the scene that they are talking about above the one where Harry is first going to Grimauld Place; or is it the one where he and his friends go to the Department of Mysteries?

I was thinking that it would be one of those two scenes as well...My guess would be the one when they are first going to Grimmauld Place. Because it wouldn't be too bad to add a chase scene there. But if it was where they were going to the ministry of magic, if they had death eaters chasing them there, that would be a lot different. I mean, the whole point of that scene is that Harry and them go into the Department of Mysteries still thinking that the Death Eaters are there, if the Death Eaters were chasing them there, it would be a little more obvious it was a trap. However, I think it would be kind of cool to see Harry fly over some of London's landmarks. I love London soooo much, and the London scenery would only add to my love of the movie, lol. but still, I don't want them adding random chase scenes!

This confuses me as well, chase scene? quite orginal if you ask me.
and they do really leave out some good parts of the books, but I guess thats what we are going to face, especially because the fifth book is quite long.

This confuses me as well, chase scene? quite orginal if you ask me. This smacks of James Bond....do you remember that chase scene at the beginning of ? was it "The World is not enough" when they had Pierce Brosnan racing up and down the Thames in a boat....... |

no i don't never have and don't plan to watch those movies oh well lol. but anyway! I think it's the one on the way to Gimmuald Place! that would be so cool if they put one right there, but if it was for the Department of Mysteries i would start screaming at the stupid movie projector telling it to delete to stupid scene or i would strangle the person in charge of that particular projector... (at the theatre of course)
