"The new pictures for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix revealed that they have changed the carved words in Harry's hand to say, "I will not break rules." Us fans of the book immediatley noticied that it differs from the book, in which it reads, "I must not tell lies." Not only was this change completley unnecessary, but it IS noticable. The "lies" statement revolves around the plot of the book in which Harry is telling the truth and being ridiculed. "Rules" has nothing to do with the story, seeing as Harry has always been a rule breaker and it would be nothing new, and has a much weaker impact on the audience. If you want Warner Bros. to go back and change the writing on Harry's hand back to the original statement from the book, then sign!" When I read this, I was so mad! I signed it immediately. The chances of them refilming the scene is low but you never know! P.S. - I'm number 56! Click here to sign!

Mugglenet's Podcast, MuggleCast, Had offered in their latest episode an explaination to this. I'm actually 5 episodes late, because of school's workload, but I'm going to hear this episode as soon as I can & I'll let you know what they're saying about this.. Does anyone else listens to MuggleCast in here?

Yeah that is true. I know they need to cut things that may not be as important but I feel like the movies are starting to be a thing of there own.

I've signed it. Number 401!
That is so stupid! What is the point in changing it? Maybe if it was a scene that took up too much time, fine. (Not that that is something they could skip) But what is wrong with "I must not tell lies"? Besides, Harry wasn't breaking the rules, he was telling the truth! By making it "I will not break rules" it completely just... urgh!
They don't need to change something like that.

Sorry i hadn't posted the answer in a while, though I heard the episode ages ago.. I'm really sorry. Anyway, they talked about it, & it had been quite complicated. Like, first, you need to understand the difference between Correct & Incorrect versus Right & Wrong to get what Jamie says about it (Which took me a while, I admit), & they talk about it fairly long. if you wanna see the whole conversation about it go to www.mugglenet.com/mugglecast/index.php?page=transcripts/65a.php & scroll down (Or Find) the subtitle "OOTP Set Photos: Harry's Hand" They talk about it in there.

I just read their explanation and I think it is a bunch of crud. I don't see how just because he is writing I will not tell lies is a double lie because he is lying that he told lies. That sounds like something a lawyer would say. I think any one that has read the books will understand and even if they don't read the book but just see the movie will not make a difference in interpretation.

Well, They're not really approving of this, are they? But there's bond to be an explation to the, ahem, idiotic change. Maybe the whole plot is edited. That should be expected after what they did to Barty Crouch's Jr.'s thing in GoF.

Oh I know. That bugged me about him. He is still alive from what we know so that makes it harder for people not to believe Harry. If they change it alot I will start to get disappointed. I love the books and would like the movies to follow a little more closely to them.

Noo! They can't change the movie as they like! that'll be pretty irritating, they must stick to the plot. Yeah the Barty part...I didn't like that.

I hated how they made it look like he just escaped Azkaban, & the dementors actually did not notice.. *rolls eyes*.. How dumb? & the whole last scene in the hospital wing was cut off.
You know what I most hated in Gof & PoA? Harry crying.. It's just silly. I mean, alright, he kinda collapsed at the end of GoF & OotP, but not the way they made him looks like. Totally stupid. He was just out of the maze, & shock should have still not worn off. When still ina state of shock, people don't cry. He was supposed to feel a numb kind of disbelieve! & In PoA! He cried just because he found out hat Sirius had [Alegedly] betrayed his parents!! That's just stupid!!
Heh.. I'm not a psychologist, but those scenes had irritated me alot!

Well, I didn't like that, but still, they must show him crying in OotP, there's Sirius to cry for, as for PoA, yeah that was really stupid.
