Okay I didn't know where else to post this but I have a question I need answered but also an idea about the subject. My question deals with Ron. When Ron talks and makes a joke the thing he was talking about is usually true or will happen. Am I right in assuming that. Now when someone answers that question I will post the rest of my thoughts on Will Harry Die!! Thanks!!

Ron is an airhead because he saids some stupid things. That happens with Harry not Ron. I remeber in Prisoner Of Azkaban Ron said Sirius was going to kill Harry but he didn't. In the Goblet Of Fire Movie Ron said that Harry put his name in the goblet when he didn't Barty Crouch Junior did. Ron said that Crookshanks ate scabbers in the prisoner of azkaban movie but he didn't. Ron is only right about the Malfoys because his dad works in the ministry so does Lucius, so arthur can get inside info. Know where i am heading?

Okay but my question is when Ron jokes about something he is usually right. By that I mean Hermione will say something to him like "don't be silly Ron." Am I right?? I know Ron is an airhead. I am trying to find out about him being a smart alec and being right about things.
When he is serious he is wrong. So if Ron says something seriously he is usually wrong. That is what I am trying to say. I know I read it somewhere but I can't remember where.

Haha! Yes! Ron is an airhead! I think I shall throw a party now, just because someone else said it.
Ok, sorry, that's over.
I was thinking that too, and then I crossed my fingers. (NOO! Don't kill me Ron fans!) Unfortunately, I don't think that "Die, Ron, die" thing will come to anything. *Sigh*

Thinking that he would die since his jokes do tend to come true. I was hoping, actually. (Which, I know, is very, very mean... and possibly evil?? Trust me, I wish no real person death... Lol!)

Okay so you are saying that Ron's jokes usually come true Right. So that means if he jokes about Harry surviving then Harry will survive. But if he jokes about Harry dieing then Harry will die. Is that about right.?

Oh! then Ron will retire from the whole "funny people" world, if he ever joked about Harry dying and it came true, that would be a nasty shock...but I don't think Ron's jokes always come true, at least Neville didn't play Quidditch to England yet.

hmm I have never thought of looking at the thought that when Ron jokes it usually comes true, but when he is serious it doesn't come true. Harry might die... awww
But I was just thinking though about that idea of harry dying... I don't know how much it would make sense though. It is a good way to make sure that she doesn't write another book, since well her main character would be dead. But if Harry dies good loses over evil. I would think both Voldermort and Harry would have to die because then there would be no winner of good over evil.

Thanks for the feed back. Bandgeek I feel the same way that both of them have to die. I have my theories on how the end of the book will be but that is another thread.
The reason I posted this question was because I was re-reading the Half Blood Prince and came across something that when I read it I got chills. I don't know why I did but I did. It is in the US edition Chapter 5 An Excess of Phlegm. It starts on the bottom of page 98 and continues to page99. After Harry tells Ron and Hermione about the prophecy. It is the last paragraph. This is what it says:
"When we heard Dumbledore was collecting you in person, we thought he might be telling you something or showing you something to do with the prophecy," said Ron eagerly. "And we were kind of right, weren't we? He wouldn't be giving you lessons if he thought you were a goner, wouldn't waste his time-- he must think you've got a chance!"
"That's true," said Hermione. "I wonder what he'll teach you Harry? Really advanced defensive magic, probably...powerful countercurses...anti-jinxes..."
The sentence I bolded is the sentence that gave me chills. Ron is being serious when he says this. When I first read it I had this feeling that Harry is going to die in the last book. NOw I just mentioned it to my son and read it too him. He says that what Ron says about Dumbledore thinking Harry has a chance would actually mean that Dumbledore doesn't think he has a chance to defeat Vodlemort.
I am now confused. I still feel that when I read that sentence Ron was saying that since Harry has a chance to survive, that Harry will actually die.
Please give me your feed back. I am sorry this is so long but I have not been able to continue reading the book because of this.

I like that you found and noticed that Ron said this. You read this sentence and find that it as serious, I see the sentence kind of as ROn joking, about harry not being a goner. I don't know how much Ron is being serious about Harry dying/living. It always seemed to me that Ron would always joke around about Harry fearing for his life, or having the chance to die.
The phrase "He wouldn't be giving you lessons if he thought you were a goner, wouldn't waste his time" seems to me that Ron may have said it in a semi joking manner, not really that serious at all.

Now see that is the other thing. As I read it over and over again I see the same thing. It could be interperted differently. As I read it again I felt that it could be taken as a joke but the fact that Hermione says "that's true." makes me think he is being serious. Hermione usually says Ron don't joke about that.

I was not saying that every joke of Ron's becomes true. He jokes too much for that.
That sentence.... I don't know what I felt when I first read that. I do remember stopping and re-reading it a few times. I think he is being serious as well, but he is happy about it. I would think you would be happy when you're thinking your best friend is not going to do.
