It almost seems like Harry Potter has ruined her life. She wants to leave to do other roles but she really should have done them in-between HP like Dan and Rupert have because if she just wants to quit HP so she doesnt get the "I'm only Hermione" thing, its kinda too late for that. I know it would really be horrible to have a stalker and be in the media all the time but isnt that what being an actor/actress is all about. It comes with the job.
I reckon she's wasting the opoortunity of a lifetime and ruining the film series for all the fans, its gonna be weird having to get used to someone else playing her. And come on, what is gonna be more popular than Harry Potter, I so hope the rumours arent true, she needs to do this, she needs to stay. I can't see her getting other roles is she is known as a quitter.

Emma Watson is NOT the only one that could play Hermione well. I think it very possible that there may be someone who can play Hermione better. (This is not to say that she does not play the part well. I'm just getting tired of people saying she is the only one who could ever play the part.) It would, however, be odd to see someone other than Watson playing the role. She's been in this for five movies, and for so many years that it's hard to imagine anyone else playing the role.
I hope she doesn't quit, as well as Rupert. The Potter movies would most certainly not be the same in either of them decided to quit.
As for if she really is quitting, I've no clue.

Ok i have information for you all. on teletext yesterday Newsround said that Emma is certain she is doing all seven stories. Emma said in an interview for the order of the phoenix film that she is definately certain she is doing all seven films. Warner Bros has said that she will sign the new contract soon. Warner Bros are certain she is doing all seven. Emma is probably going to get a pay rise though. Emma is going to get 2 million pounds for half blood prince. On Hpana they said that she now has an attachment next to Half blood prince on IMOB. Yesterday In the news of the world this is what they said:
"Teen film star emma watson is set to do a vanishing act from hogwarts........ because harry potter has lost his magic. The pretty sixteen year old who plays hermione granger, wants a spell doing other roles. She has refused to sign a new contract, plunging the final two movies of the JK Rowling novels into crisis. The feisty young actress has told producers that even doubling her pay packet to £2 million a movie won't do the trick. Filming on the sixth story in the series Harry Potter and the half blood princeis due to start in months. Daniel Radcliffe is already signed up and Rupert Grintwill again play Harry's best pal Ron Weasley. I am very Confused right now. can anyone help? I really don't know what is going on, One minute she is quitting then the next she isn't. I agree with you about Harry Potter has ruined her life, Emma has said it is impossible to get boyfriends because of her popularity. I thought the stalking has done it for her. Emma now has to have a bodyguard at school, That was her parents and school decision. Emma should of had a bodyguard in the first place, then the stalking wouldn't of freaked her out so much because the bodyguard would of protected her and then she will carry on with the movies and not worry about strange people following her. Do you all agree?

I don't think anyone really knows what is going on right now besides Emma, WB, and Emma's parents. It just seems odd to me. You would think someone that knows exactly what is going on would try to clear things up...

MUGGLE NET SAYS THAT SHE WILL SIGN ON FOR THE NEXT TWO MOVIES!!!!!!!!!! yay i hope they all are the same people all throught movie7.... the swich with dumbuldor was really hard on me!!!!

MuggleNet says the WB is almost certain that she will come back... But not completely for certain. They didn't have any choice about changing Dumbledores. That was so sad! To me, he'll always be the actual Dumbledore, and not Michael Gambon. ::edit:: I am pretty much in love with this article right now. I like the ending of it, haha. |

I hi I have some bad news about this story she's not staying on for the last two films, there was a bit about it in the news of the world this morning
Emma Watson has decided not to sign up for the final two Harry Potter movies, according to a report in the News of the World today.
The actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the films, has told producers that she wants to try other roles and turned down a new £2 million-per-movie offer.
Watson's co-star Rupert Grint, better known as Ron Weasley, admitted that he and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) no longer speak to the 16-year-old.
"Emma doesn't want to do it any more," Rupert explained. "She's tired of being known as ‘that girl from Harry Potter'. Daniel and I are distant from her now. We don't text or talk to her when we are not filming."
The newspaper claims that it has received confirmation from Warner Brothers that Emma has not signed up for the final films.
that's silly there is only two more films to go

It's hard to say for sure if she is staying or not. I've heard in many articles that she signed up for the last two movies, but I'm still not sure.
