Oh My God Britneys Sister Jamie Lynn is PREGNANT AND SHE IS 16. It was announced on the news today. Post what you think in here. I think its bad because she is only 16 and she is setting a bad example for young teens out there. Especially on people who watch her show ZOEY 101. Amd they say the UK has the highest teenage Pregnancy Rate in the world. Don't anyone get taught sex education these days. and how risky it can get.

Oh I know what you are talking about. I couldn't believe it when I heard about it. I know my kids have had sex education in school. I also have talked to my kids about what to do if they decide to have sex. Parents can't depend on every one else to teach their children. It also doesn't help that some parents who are single have sex while their kids are in the house and hear them. I could go on forever so I am going to stop now.

It really disappointed me. I've never been a Jamie Lynn or Zoey 101 fan, but I held hopes that she would turn out better than Britney. So far, she's worse. She should have waited until she was married! I'm surprised there's no lawsuit going out against the boyfriend, considering he's an adult (18) and she's a minor (16). Now I'm hearing hse's run away?
Honestly, I don't know how ot sort out all the rumors flying. I attempt not to even try, but sometimes...you just get curious, you know? Argh, what's happening to America's youth these days? It's sad, it really is.

Peer Pressure has been around for ever. It isn't anything new. I had it when I was growing up and my kids have had to deal with it too. I think that teenagers don't think anything is going to happen to them and that they can handle things better then adults. Plus they are in the spot light and think they are adults because they get treated like adults by people.

Well, it's not like she had the best role models, either...
All the tabloids are actually accusing Britney of being mentally ill. And theyr'e mother is going to write a PARENTING book. There is not one person i would want to learn parenting skills from less. Unless its a "How NOT to Raise Your Kids" book.

Oh I know. What their mother is doing is horrendous she is using her daughters' fame to make a name for herself. I have to agree with you Quidditch Queen about that book. No book can help anyone to raise a perfect child. Books are helpful but nothing more then that.

When I read about Jamie-Lynn being pregnant, I sadly wasn't surprised.
With a mother as care free as hers, and a psychotic sister, she has to take control of something in her life, and rebel.
She was just an idiot for getting pregnant at 16.
No child (and I mean that) is mature enough to raise a child at 16.
I'm 18 and still feel I'm in no way capable to raise a child sufficiently.
Obviously the father thought that way as well for buggerin off, which is entirely immature and pathetic on his part.
It's insane that this is an increasing occurence in teenagers today.
Teenagers, and even early 20 year olds, are too focused on their own life to give a child tyhe love and support they need, and in my opinion, that is the way it should be, at least for the teenagers.
I think that this news about Jamie Lynn sets a shocking example for young gils, but then again, who is a good role model that's in the hollywood fame game at the moment?

You are absolutely right about no child/young adult at the age of 16 is ready to raise a child. I work in the school district here and when I hear about 7th and 8th graders being pregnant I just shake my head and think what a shame.
Now to your question about a good role model in Hollywood if you mean as in teenager I really don't know of any. I think Christina Aguilara has done a fantastic job being famous. I am sure there are others but since they haven't done anything outlandish we don't know about them.
I think we should also blame the news people that are always publishing this type of stuff. If it was a regular girl in your school district no one would know except for the girls close friends and family.
Just because a person is famous doesn't mean we need to know everything that they do.

Exactly, I completely agree.
Just because they did something scandolous, does not mean the world cares. The media harps on about how today's youth is growing up too fast, yet they publish information about woman who are potentially seen as role models.
It's the same thing happening with all the diets being "discovered" and the bone thin celebs in magazines.
It's like publicising the supposed perfect body, lowering self esteem.
I found it ironic that I read on the cover of Dolly, that there was an article about this situation, and then another cover story about how to get the perfect summer body.
Contradictive, much?
As for Christina Aguilera, I think you're right. She has done a good job of being famous. I do love the fact that she hasn't rushed in to drop the post-baby weight. I think she looks fabulous with the chub.

Christina's baby is gorgeous. The press just want to make a story about anything to make you read it. For example Princess Diana tens years after her death they are still saying bad things about her. They can't even let her rest in peace. This is a topic that won't be dropped.

Oh yes I agree about the media. I think it is ashame that they can't let it be about Princess Di.
That does sound very contradictive about the two stories in the Dolly magazine. That is all I see anymore is how to have the perfect body by spring or summer. Then you hear about you should just be happy with the way you look.
I wish we could have a law against it but that will never happen.

I know it will never happen...and how frustrating that is!!
I really wish that they would be a few provisions for magazines that ae obviously aimed at ages 11-16 year olds.
HOw are they supposed to find their own way when the magazines give the supposed ideal lifestyle/image?
