But what makes you think she means the All Saints day? There wasn;t any indication to a celebrated saint, date, event or anything in the title. I've read quite some interesting theories about what it could mean if it really indicated All Hallows Eve. Like, I've read somewhere, it's the begining of the Witches' year, & is believed to be the night where the veil between the dead world & the living world thins. That could be very interesting. Considerign the events that unfolded in OotP, & JK not commenting on the question of Sirius coming back in contact in one way or another.
But do Hallows specifically means All Saints' day. It might mean saints, but not the celebrated day. I'm not saying it's impossible. That might turn out right actually.
I also think that it's plausible for Deathly Hallows to be a term, you know, written with capitals & such, for something. Then it'd make a bit more sense for the word Hallows to be in there. When JK names new stuff in her books, she tends to choose words with history.
Some tentative titles had been released, but they mean nothing. They are just what the publisher had translated the English title into.
The choice of deathly, & not deadly is indeed very interesting. Maybe if we get to know the other two titles of the book, we would be able to get a bit deeper into it.

The book will either be released before the order of the phoenix premeire or after the order of the phoenix film. i think the premeire date will be 8 july 2007 (UK) it is always held on a sunday leading up to the friday film. I don't think people will want to buy the last book on 7.7.07 because that is a memorial day for uk residents. All with respect Jo might not release it on this day.

Yes, I heard that, so, I am ruling 7/7/07 (although it really would be a cool date) out. Now I'm thinking more September-December-ish. Ahh, I do not want to wait that long for the book though. I will become very, very impatient.

I had heard that too and now feel that 7/7/07 is out too. I would love to see it released on 7/31/07. I have to agree that is will probably be between Sept. and Dec. 07
I will also start to get impatient.

I think 31/07 is a bit more possible..They can't release it while school is through. & not all countries get two weeks vacation for christmas.. It's only a two days holiday in here, & only for a certain percentage of schools & organizations. I thik it's either late 2007's summer or 2008's summer.

I think 2008 is too far away. I am hoping more for late summer in 2007. I think that in July most places have vacation or holiday then.

Ok, I found this on a similar post on the Twilight Lexicon. It was written by another member on there.
She brings up a good point of the veil. Could that be a possibility?

Leigh I read something similar to that on another site. I found that interesting too. Could it be talking about the veil that is quite possible. I too have thought that maybe it is a play on words but can't figure out how.

So maybe the veil holds more importance than we know? She did say we would see more about the veil.
That's what I've been starting to wonder the past few days. If she's tricking us like she tricked us with the last book.

I know she is so good at doing that to us. I think it has to do with the veil more then ever now.
She is a mastermind that is for sure.

I really like what bandgeek put on page 1... about the arthurian legendary quest items? That could be symbolized as the horcruxes and the word in itself deadly could be simply describing the "hallows" i.e. the horcruxes. Basically centering the story around the horcruxes, which is exactly what we know from the last book.

Ooo very good Chrohno. I like the way you have explained what Hallows could mean. You maybe on to something right now. We are probably over analyzing this title when it is something so simple.

WOW! that's nice chrohno! That means we are making a big fuss on nothing, I hope it is like you said, hopefully it's that simple, or else we'll be having a tough time trying to explain things.

That's what I was thinking when I read her post, but I couldn't express like you did. I agree, it could.
Haha, ok, so, a completely insane thing... Voldemort is described as being deathly. Could deathly in the title be referring to Voldemort? Just a random thought that came into my head.
