This is what i have found
The British actor, who was 11 when he made his first Harry Potter movie, appears completely naked in the play, written by Anthony Shaffer. Radcliffe plays a stable boy in the care of a psychiatrist for his obsession with harming horses.
Producer David Pugh told the British press that Radcliffe had no hesitation in shedding his clothes. “We had never seen him with his clothes off before. We all went ‘Wow!’”
But not everyone is thrilled with Radcliffe’s racy role. According to the Daily Mail, some parents have threatened to keep their children away from the star’s next movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
After his run in Equus, which has already raked in more than $2.3 million in advance sales, Radcliffe will make one more Potter film, The Half-Blood Prince.
This explains that Warner Bros will probably lose money when OOTP comes out.

Oh man! allow me to say that Dan is an idiot for doing this, sure parents would care about their children, he made a mistake by accepting the play role, what was he thinking about?! No one can ever replace him as Harry, and I wont watch the movies for this, I will not watch the movies if there is a new Harry or Ron or Hermione, the movies then will stink! That's not fair, he could've found hundreds of other roles to sign for, why just this play?! I know I shall give the new acters a chance, but...

Okay I have said this in other threads but I think it is stupid for people to say they are going to boycott because of the play.
I hope that the trio do the last shows.
I don't think the movie will loose any money because the parents are threatening not to let their children see the movie but I know when I was young I disobeyed my parents. Plus the parents may just be saying it now but may decide later that they over reacted.

Oooh! I've just sensed how frustrated I was when writing the previous post. Well, I know it's something pointless to do by parents, but I don't know why I expected sucha thing, maybe coz I know some children who have such parents. The play is not a problem for me, I would watch it if I got a chance (if they ever decided to show it here in the city or even the country), but am angry coz it was the reason for the possibility of changing Dan.

I think I understand what you are saying Refo.
I think it is a good choice for Dan because he will hopefully be able to show his acting ability other then playing Harry. I just think parents are upset but will calm down or forget about what they said. I don't think the movie will loose that much money if it will loose any.

Yeah *nods with agreement* they sure will retrieve their word.
As for my own parents, they dont care whatsoever. never care less about these things to ever boycotte Dan or any other acter (I bet they dont even know his name), just say "UGH! not Harry Potter again!"

Lol Yeah I get that from my family. My husband, and kids. I was discussing this play with one of my sons friends and my son was getting mad because I monopolized him. He asked me questions about the play and I told him. I to get to talk to anyone about this and if I do they are all young kids. By that I mean under the age of 13. My son is 14 soon to be 15 so I don't mind his of my daughter's friends because they are older and probably know more then you'd realize.

I think it is stupid to go all the way to the 6th and quit. There is ONLY one left!
Accepting that role was not smart on his part. Sure he wanted to get away from the Harry Potter image, but that was not the way to do it.
Yes it is mental that parents want to boycott the movie! He isn't stark naked in this film! It is the other one you should be worrying about.
Warner Bros. will most likely lose money too, because of the parents threats. Mine don't care. They said it was stupid on his part to do that role, but to boycott a completely different movie, where he has way more clothes, makes no sense. I have to agree with them on that too.

I Know that it is stupid to threaten to boycott the HP movies. I don't see any problem with him doing this play because it will show how good of an actor he is.
How people can complain about this play when you have athletes, singers, actors, politicians, and other famous people breaking laws by doing drugs, driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and other stuff but I don't see people boycotting their movie, sporting event or public appearance. We all get naked everyday maybe not in front of people but it is natural.
Dan even said in an interview that alot of actors have gotten naked (Gary Oldeman for one). I just think that since those of us that live in America think that a 17 year old is still a child we are judging him wrong. He is 17 but will be turning 18. Things are different in the UK and other countries.
I don't see how WB can loose money by threats. It is just a threat. Plus when the movie comes out who's to say that people will remember this play. I think this is publicity for the HP movie and Dan. It may not be the best publicity but it is publicity and that is all you need to get peoples attention.
Tessa you are right by saying it is stupid to stop after the 6th movie. I just think it is a ploy right now. I hope they do the last movie.

I think everything is just publicity, with emma and rupert not signing the contract and Dan with Equus. it will all die downby the time the movie and book is out.

I agree Sam. Publicity of any kind is good. You are going to get people that haven't seen the other movies going to see the HP movie because of Dan. It is keeping HP front and center and on everyones minds.

Ooh! that sounds good Sam, just for publicity, well, that could be true! I just hope everything ends up okay, I feel it will, soon enough the parents would forget everything, but still I wish everything goes alright with the last two movies.

I hope so too. I just think it is early in the production and they just finished up the Order of the Phoenix that they just aren't thinking about it. Plus we have to remember Rupert may be busy doing other things or with his ex friend causing trouble at his birthday party he may be keeping a low profile for now. My fingers are crossed though.
