Why Harry/Harry's Scar is NOT a horcrux

Ok, so, I've thought of something else.

JKR has said in an interview that she thought about killing Harry just so there wouldn't be any non-author sequels. Of course, this doesn't answer the question of 'does Harry die?', but it tells us one thing. JKR had to think about it. If Harry was a horcrux, JKR would have known from the beginning and there would be no thinking about it. It would be necessary for Harry to die. By saying that she thought about it and didn't automatically know, she proves that the theory that Harry or Harry's scar is a horcrux is not true.

I think that would prove that Harry isn't a horcrux. The scar is just the mark not necessarily a horcrux. If the scar was the horcrux I think the scar would vanish and Harry wouldn't die but would loose all his magic powers. If you think about it Harry says he belongs in the wizarding world more then in the Muggle world. So I Harry lost his powers that would really kill him. Does that make sense.?

I don't think Harry would ever be allowed to leave the magical world, even if he couldn't do magic. But, I don't see how the scar (if it were a horcrux) being removed would affect his magical powers. He might lose being Parseltounge and everything he got from LV, but he has magic in his blood. I'm sure he wouldn't mind losing those things and his scar. Haha.

But, I can kind of see what you mean. Maybe it would... but he would still be allowed into Diagon Alley and everything. He would still somewhat belong to the wizarding world.

Plus, there's always Quikspell! (Just kidding!)

I understand what you are saying. I just think that if she wasn't going to "kill" Harry that the way to destroy him would be for him to loose his powers. I am not saying that it is the scar that gives him all his power. He may have the wizard blood in him but that doesn't mean that he couldn't loose them in a battle. There is so much that I don't understand about the magical world that has me thinking he could loose them. I don't know how he would loose them though.
I am now confusing myself as I am typing this.

Hahahaha! That's true, there's a lot no one but Jo knows about the wizarding world, so we really can't say. But does Jo have to destroy Harry?! Oh gosh... that's such a depressing thought!

Most of this is wishful thinking on my part, because I'm pretty much in denial that Harry might die.

I keep trying to convince myself now so that when and if he does die it will be easier to handle. Ha like that will help. I think I am in denial too but am trying to convince myself that I am not.

There might be some way that Harry could get rid of a horcrux inside of him. Wormtail has been near Voldemort for a while now and he is lnown for a lot of eavesdropping, so he might be able to know how to get rid of one w/out hurting the object, and he DOES have a life-debt that he owes to Harry. He might be forced to tell Harry to settle the debt. In other words, I'm in denial too.

Wormtail has to do something to settle the debt. Wormtail should totally die for Harry, so Harry lives! Yesh!!! That'd be awesome. Then I might like Wormtail, just a little bit.

Wouldn't putting a horcrux into something living be dangerous though?

Yes b/c they can think on their own and they could get themselves killed along with the horcrux, but didn't Dumbledore say that Nagini was probably a horcrux?

I think D did say something about Nagini being a Horcrux. I don't think Voldemort would do it on purpose with Harry. We know V never heard the whole prophecy so he doesn't know that neither can live while the other survives. I think if Harry is a horcrux then it was by accident. We don't know everything about having to do a horcrux. You figure that if V had done 6 Horcrux's before killing Harry that he knew how to do like second nature. So he could have been doing the Horcrux right as he was killing Harry. Cause he knew that if he killed Harry and made the last Horcrux that he would be Immortal. So he didn't think about the killing curse not working.

So if he is a horcrux, does that mean that V made 8 horcruxes, because the fact that V tried to kill Harry on countless occasions, must mean that he didn't know about the horcrux?

yeah that would be true. I have mixed feelings about Harry being a horcrux. I can understand about V not making him a horcrux because he wanted to kill him but then I could see him doing the killing and thinking it killed Harry and while he is making the horcrux the AK curse hits him and causes V to make Harry the horcrux. I am confusing myself again.

well JK Rowling has alot of tricks up her sleeves.For all we know Neville can be a Death Eater((although that's like 0% chance of happening))but i agree with nutz.I have mixed feeling about Harry being a Horcrux.
