First, Voldemort had intended to kill Harry, so he wouldn't be turning him into a horcrux.
Second, Voldemort did not know he would give Harry his scar and was too weak to turn it into a horcrux afterwords.
He couldn't have had time to do so between killing James and Lily, otherwise Lily would have been able to get out of the house.
That's just my view on that. He didn't have time to make a final horcrux before he tried killing Harry. And I don't see where he could have made Harry or Harry's Scar a horcrux during the time he's been back.

FINALLY! *hewph, sighs with relief* I was trying so hard to persuade others that Harry is NOT a horcrux, but it didnt work. thank you alot for this thread.
I 100% agree with everything you said, he just cant be, and am really surprised there are people who believe he is! Voldemort tried to kill him not only once! plus, Harry's scar is not a very valuable thing to be "worthy enough" to hold a part of Voldemort's soul.

I also think Dumbledore would have known if Harry(or his scar) was a horcrux. Just like I think he would know if the sword in his office is a horcrux.
I do disagree with you on one thing. I think Harry's scar is very valuable.

Okay I don't know if I responded to this already or not but here goes. I never gave any thought to Harry's scar being a Horcrux. I do think Dumbledore would have known if Harry's scar was one or not too. Yes his scar is valuable.

Wow I never noticed that before. I will have to go in and read all the different idea about this. I don't really know where I stand on this though. I am re-reading the books again. I am not like some that can read for hours and not be interrupted. I can only read a little at a time. I think it is possible but not conviced by it yet.

I totaly agree, & I always had that point to support my opinion. There;s no way LV would have made something he so dearly had always wanted destroyed into something that, if still unscatched, would halp make him immortal. It's just senseless.
People say he might have done it by mistake. Do you really think it;s that easy to make a horcrux. I mean, okay, he killed Lily & James right before Harry, but you can;t just make a horcrux by chance after killing somebody! Creating horcruxes is a very nast, complicated, & advanced dark magic. You can't just say, 'So, I Avada Kedavra-ed the poor bloke, then, I just sorta waved my wand, & TADA! I got a horcrux!' That's just wooden.

I've gotten the response that he could have made Harry a Horcrux after he killed Lily and James, but I do not think that Voldemort would plan on making Harry a horcrux if he had planned on killing Harry.

I have one question exactly what does Voldemort have to say to make the Horcrux? Was it ever stated in the books? I don't remember and right now I am re-reading the OotP book. Like I said before I haven't chosen a side yet. I have been reading some of the ideas and can see both points. ( I seem to be good at that). When I am done reading the books maybe then I can have a better opinion.

No, I'm sure it was never stated in the books as to how to make a Horcrux. But I think it was mentioned how much an advance & dark magic it is.
Why in burning hell would LV want to make Harry a Horcrux right before killing him? I think I'm a bit lost. So, the part that actually makes sense is Voldemort making Harry a Horcrux, or the one where he kills Harry afterwards?
LV wouldn't destroy something he'd have worked hard on doing, which will make him as close possible to immortality! Can you imagine someone putting a fair ammount of effort in something, that, if succeeded & kept safe would garantee him great opportunities, just to destroy it right after making it? Yeah. That makes a whole lots of sense.
If Harry was intended to be made a Horcrux, LV wouldn't have wanted him dead. At least not before he had done him something special.

Exactly, Meme! And because Voldemort had planned on killing Harry, he never intended on giving him the scar. The scar can't be a horcrux either, then, seeing as he lost his powers after he tried killing Harry. AND! As he keeps trying to kill Harry, I do not think Voldemort would even attempt to make Harry a horcrux.

Okay I understand what you guys are saying but I have also read other sides of this theory that state: Voldemort was not intentionally making Harry a Horcrux but accidentally did it. I am not saying that I agree with that but if V was excited about destroying the person that was Prophecied to be his down fall then maybe he was doing both spells at the same time. Maybe he said Avada Kadavra and as the spell backfired he was in the process of doing the Horcrux and when V got hit with the AK rebound he accidentally made Harry's scar the horcrux. Hence he would not know that. He may think he put it some place else. I am just stating an idea. Just something to think about.
I still can't decide if I think his scar is one or not.

I heard about that too, Nutz. But I don't think it's really that easy to make a horcrux. I think it may even have certain rituals. a bit like V's rebirth, but maybe a tad less complicated ('cause we know that was such a tough branch of magic, to put it nicely.) It might be just a spell, but I don;t think it was easy enough to be used in tiny duration of time unintentionally.
Of course, it may be true. Jk can find a loop somewhere.. But that'd be really hard. I don't think it is true, but I could be wrong after all.

Yeah Meme I see what you are saying. I don't know if making a Horcrux is just a spell or if there is more to it then we have been informed with. I just can't see Harry being a Horcrux because V is not stupid. I could see the scar possibly being one but am not totally convinced either. If I find any new info in the books as I read I will let you know but I doubt that I will find anything.

I don't see how the scar could be one. V lost power right after he tried killing Harry, which is what gave him the scar. There is no way V could have made Harry's scar a Horcrux after he'd just lost his powers. I also don't see where V could have made it a horcrux even after he gain power again.
I do agree, though, that V is not stupid. He's very smart, he's just using his intelligence in the wrong way.
